Performs routine clerical, accounting and administrative work in accounts receivable, cash collections, petty cash and maintains quick books accounts for landfill and golf course.
Works under the general supervision of the Assistant Finance Director
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receipts revenues and maintains receipt files
Performs secretarial and receptionist duties for Finance Dept
Distributes incoming mail and process outgoing mail daily
Maintains golf course membership dues, landfill A/R and spreadsheets, and MK Brown A/R
Prepares monthly/quarterly invoices for building rents, accounting services, County contributions, etc.
Performs collection of bad debts for landfill, golf, and library or turns over returned checks to the County Attorney for collection
Maintains accounts payable and cash receipt files in laserfiche
Obtains new vehicle registrations and issues unit numbers for new equipment
Responsible for all file retention in Finance Department
Manages shared copier and printers for paper and toner daily
Responsible for obtaining copy paper bids and keeping paper supply inventory
Receipt & disburse petty cash
Order supplies for finance office
Performs other duties as assigned
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
( A) Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, with specialized course work in general office practices such as typing, accounting, data processing, and
(B) two (2) years of increasingly responsible related experience, or
(C) any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A working knowledge of computers and electronic data processing; working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; working knowledge of governmental accounting principles and practices.
Skill in operating office equipment; to include copiers, fax machines, multi line telephones, binders, computers, printers, postage machine and other office related equipment.
The ability to perform arithmetic computations accurately and quickly; the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written; the ability to establish successful working relationships; and the ability to work under pressure and with frequent interruptions.
Must be bondable.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Personal computer, including word processing and spreadsheet software; central financial computer; 10-key calculator; phone, postage machine, fax and copy machines.
