Robert Dixon was elected to the Pampa City Commission representing Ward 3 in May of 2007.  He previously served as Commissioner for Ward 3 from 1989-2005. 

Commissioner Dixon was born in Enid, Oklahoma and moved to Pampa in 1946.  He graduated from Pampa High School in 1951.  Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  Upon returning to Pampa, he graduated from Frank Phillips College in Borger.

Dixon then went to work for Retail Credit Company, which later became Equifax.  He retired with Equifax in 1991.  Having been a citizen of Pampa for over 50 years, Commissioner Dixon will continue to work to make Pampa a community everyone can be proud of and one where children will chose to remain and raise their families.

Accomplishments

Robert was honored with a lifetime membership of the optimist club after many years of service.   Mr. Dixon served with the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission for eight years and has served as the Gray County Veterans Service Officer since 1999.

Family

Commissioner Dixon married JoAnn Addington in 1959 and have lived in Pampa since that time.  They have three children, Robert Jr., Christopher, and Kimberly Ann and they are blessed with 10 grandchildren.  Most of the family members live and work in the Pampa area.  Robert attends the First Baptist Church.
