The City of Pampa is now able to protect your pets when they get lost or stolen with AVID Friendchip micro chips. The Animal Control personnel are trained to inject the microchip in virtually any pet. Now you can easily protect your loved ones before it's too late.

What is the AVID Friendchip?

It's a technology miracle. Developed by a veterinarian, it's the professional way to identify your pet and it's proven to be safe and effective. A tiny microchip that contains a personal, one-of-a-kind identification number and distinguishes your pet as a special member of your family. The microchip is so tiny that it fits through a hypodermic needle. Just like a vaccination, it's injected under the skin of your pet where it remains safely for life. This inexpensive ($20.00) procedure can be done by appointment at the Animal Shelter, and best of all, protect virtually any pet you love.... dogs, cats, horses, birds, and even reptiles! Call today and set up an appointment to have your pets micro chipped. Call (806) 669-5775 for an appointment today.

When the shelter finds a lost pet they can scan the pet and check him for a microchip. When the shelter finds the chip number, they call AVID's 24 hour hotline. After a quick search of the database, you, your veterinarian, or your alternate is contacted, and your pet is as good as home. Scanners are provided free of charge to any shelter that requests one. This is a nation wide service so it's a wonderful thing to have your traveling pets protected too.  This $20.00 fee is a small price to pay for getting your loved ones back home where they belong.
