 TELECOMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR – Performs a variety of routine and clerical, administrative and technical work in receiving and dispatching routine and emergency information; keeping official records; and assisting in the administration of the standard operating procedures of the dispatch center.

POSITION CLASSIFICATION:

CL3  (non-exempt)

SALARY RANGE:

$3,195 - $4,282 monthly

WORK SCHEDULE:

10 hour shifts. Shifts my vary but typically

6:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.

,4:00 p.m-2:00 a.m., 8:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.

SELECTION PROCESS TO BE UTILIZED:

Qualified applicants interviewed by the Dispatch Supervisor.           

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent; and one year of clerical and computer experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. State of Texas driver's license may be required. A variety of technical training and certifications are required within one year of hire, including CPR Certification, Telecommunicator Certification for access to National/Texas Crime Information Centers (NCIC/TCIC), and Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (TLETS). Must be a US Citizen as required by TCOLE.
